What information do I need to provide when requesting a chiller quotation?
To provide an accurate quotation for a recirculating chiller, we first need to understand what you are cooling and what your process requires.
Providing as much information as possible at the enquiry stage helps our Sales team to identify an appropriate chiller, pump, configuration, and any Option or Accessory Packs required for your application.
What are you cooling?
Start by telling us about your application.
This might include the type of equipment, process, or system being cooled, how the chiller will be used and any particular requirements associated with the application.
Even a short description can provide valuable context when assessing your cooling requirements.
What is the required cooling capacity?
We need to know the heat load that the chiller needs to remove, normally expressed in kilowatts (kW).
Where possible, this should be based on the actual or calculated heat generated by the process.
Electrical power consumption should not automatically be treated as cooling capacity. If you are unsure of your process heat load, provide as much information about the equipment and application as possible and our team can advise what additional information may be required.
What process fluid temperature do you need?
Tell us the required temperature or temperature range of the fluid leaving the chiller.
Cooling capacity varies according to operating temperature, so we need to consider the required fluid temperature alongside the process heat load.
If your application requires particularly low or high fluid temperatures, a compatible Low Temperature or High Temperature Option Pack may also need to be considered.
Which coolant will you be using?
Please tell us which process fluid you intend to circulate through the chiller.
Fluid type can influence heat transfer and hydraulic performance and must be compatible with both the chiller and the customer’s process.
If you are unsure which fluid will be used, include this in your enquiry so that it can be considered during product selection.
What are the ambient conditions?
Tell us about the environment in which the chiller will operate, including the expected ambient temperature.
ATC chillers are designed for indoor installation. If your installation is expected to experience particularly high or low ambient temperatures, please highlight this when requesting a quotation.
Depending on the chiller model, a High Ambient or other suitable standard solution may be available.
What electrical supply is available?
Please provide details of the electrical supply available at the installation, including:
- Voltage
- Single-phase or three-phase
- Frequency (50Hz or 60Hz)
- Country or region of installation
Available electrical configurations vary across the ATC product range, so this information helps us to identify a suitable model..
Do you have any additional requirements?
Tell us about any other requirements that could affect the chiller specification or its integration with your equipment.
ATC’s current range is structured around predefined Configurations, Option Packs, and Accessory Packs, with availability depending on the chiller model.
RS485 communications and Volt-Free Contacts are already provided as standard on MG, G, and H-Series chillers, so these do not need to be requested as additional options on these ranges.
Are you replacing an existing chiller?
If the enquiry is for a replacement chiller, please send us the manufacturer, model, and specification of the existing equipment where available. A photograph of the product nameplate or a copy of the existing manual or datasheet can also be helpful.
However, we will still need to understand the requirements of the process.
Simply matching an existing chiller or pump specification does not necessarily confirm that it is correctly sized for the current application. Reviewing the actual heat load, temperature, flow, and system requirements allows us to select an appropriate replacement from our current product range.
What if I don't have all of this information?
You don’t need to have every answer before contacting us.
Send us the information you do have and tell us where something is unknown. If a key piece of information is required before we can select a chiller or pump, our Sales and Engineering teams can explain what needs to be established.
For more complex applications, or requirements that fall outside our standard product range, the enquiry may need to be reviewed by our Engineering team before a quotation can be provided.
Request a chiller quotation
To help us to assess your application efficiently, provide as much of the following as possible:
- Application: What are you cooling?
- Heat load: How much cooling is required (kW)?
- Fluid temperature: What temperature do you need?
- Flow rate: What flow does the process require (L/min)?
- Pressure: Is there a known system pressure requirement or pressure drop?
- Coolant: Which process fluid will be used?
- Ambient conditions: What temperatures will the chiller operate in?
- Electrical supply: What voltage, phase, and frequency are available?
- Installation location: Which country or region will the chiller be installed in?
- Additional requirements: Are any particular configurations, functions, or accessories required?
- Project timescale: When do you require the equipment?
The more information you can provide, the more efficiently we can identify an appropriate cooling solution and prepare your quotation.
