K3

The K3 chiller from Applied Thermal Control is a recirculating chiller, providing 3.2kW of cooling in a compact and robust form. This chiller is capable of being tailored to specific needs, as each unit is built to customer specifications and order requirements. Its design is well-suited for laboratory use, but the sturdy steel enclosure allows it to be effectively used in a variety of environments. The K3 chiller is enhanced by the used of Hexid as a heat transfer fluid, which not only extends the life of the chiller but also prevents frost and inhibits the growth of harmful bacteria.

In terms of design and functionality, the K3 chiller focuses on simplicity and efficiency. Its straightforward operation is facilitated by an ergonomic design, which includes a large, bright LED display for clear visibility of operational parameters. For ease of maintenance, the chiller features a standalone filing level indicator that is easy to access and change. Safety and convenience are further ensured with a splash-proof keypad that integrates a mains switch and a reliable microprocessor PID temperature control for accurate temperature management. The design of the K3 unit includes vents on all sides, providing flexibility in installation and placement.

Safety and customisation are key aspects of the K3 chiller’s design. It comes equipped with a pressure gauge and an internal bypass valve as standard features, allowing for the adjustment of pump pressure to suit specific application requirements. An optional RS485 interface is available for PC connection, offering enhanced control and monitoring capabilities. The chiller can handle permissible temperatures of up to +70°C in the return line and includes an alarm output with potential free change-over contact for added safety. Additionally, the chiller features stainless steel tanks, suitable for DI and nonferrous applications, and a low liquid level protection system with optical and audible alarms.
