Meet the Team: Ashley Rolfe Joins ATC as General Manager

Applied Thermal Control is delighted to welcome Ashley Rolfe as General Manager, who joined the business in February 2026.

With a background rooted in engineering and operations, Ashley brings extensive leadership experience from within manufacturing environments. He joins ATC at an important stage in its growth, with a clear focus on building a more structured, scalable organisation and strengthening its position as a reliable OEM partner.

Setting Direction Across the Business

Ashley’s role centres on providing clear direction for the business while ensuring alignment across Sales, Engineering, and Operations. His day-to-day responsibilities span both strategic and operational activity – from engaging with customers and reviewing performance, to shaping long-term plans and driving improvements across production and commercial functions.

This broad scope reflects a key part of his leadership approach: enabling teams to perform at their best by removing barriers and creating clarity.

As Ashley puts it:
“A large part of the role is removing obstacles for others – ensuring teams have what they need to perform and that decisions are made clearly and quickly.”

A consistent theme in his early weeks has been focus – something reflected in one of the most common questions he’s been asked so far: “What’s the priority?”

Early Observations and Momentum

Having quickly embedded himself within the business, Ashley has gained a strong understanding of both ATC’s capabilities and the opportunities ahead.

He describes the business as “a business with strong technical capability and a committed team, with clear opportunity to improve structure, alignment, and consistency as we scale”.

Since joining, he has focused on working closely with the team to introduce greater clarity and direction, while beginning to build momentum around how the business operates and delivers for its customers.

Background and Leadership Experience

Ashley’s career has developed through hands-on experience in engineering and manufacturing, progressing into senior leadership roles with a focus on operations, performance improvement, and business transformation. He has worked in both group and private equity-backed environments, where driving efficiency and scalable growth is essential.

Alongside his professional experience, Ashley studied Business with Economics through the Open University, strengthening his commercial understanding and strategic outlook.

He also brings a distinctive perspective shaped by his time in maritime security, where he spent four years supporting vessel protection in high-risk regions – an experience that continues to influence his approach to leadership, accountability, and decision-making.

Focus for the Future

Looking ahead, Ashley is focused on building a business that is both highly structured and consistently reliable for its customers. His priority is to create an organisation that delivers with clarity, strong processes, and a clear sense of direction.

He is particularly motivated by the opportunity ahead:
“The opportunity to build a more structured, scalable business and strengthen our position as a trusted OEM partner”.

With continued growth on the horizon, Ashley is also focused on improving how the business aligns its engineering and commercial capabilities, ensuring that ATC is well positioned to support long-term customer partnerships.

We’re pleased to welcome Ashley to the team and look forward to the impact he will make at ATC.
