Low Temperature Pack – OP00001
The Low Temperature Pack extends the operating range of compatible ATC chillers for applications requiring process fluids below the standard +4°C lower operating limit. It may also be suitable where a chiller is operating at a standard temperature setpoint within a low ambient environment.
To support operation under these conditions, additional insulation is fitted internally within the chiller. This helps to minimise unwanted heat transfer and reduce the risk of condensation forming within the unit. The chiller’s hot gas bypass setting is also adjusted to suit low-temperature operation.
Low-Temperature Operation
Operating a cooling system below +4°C requires consideration of the complete application, not simply the chiller setpoint. The required operating temperature, process fluid, and installation conditions should all be considered when selecting the appropriate chiller and options.
Cooling capacity also varies with operating temperature, so the required cooling duty should be checked at the intended process temperature rather than against nominal chiller capacity alone.
