Where can I find my chiller serial number?
Your chiller’s serial number is a unique identifier that helps ATC to identify your equipment and provide more accurate technical service and spare parts support.
We recommend providing the serial number whenever you contact us about an existing ATC chiller.
The serial number can normally be found on the rating plate attached to the chiller.
Depending on the model, the rating plate will typically be located on the rear or side of the unit.
Look for a number marked “SN” or “Serial Number”.
The rating plate may also contain other useful information about your chiller, including:
- Model number
- Electrical supply
- Refrigerant information
- Refrigerant charge
- Other product identification and rating information
If you’re contacting ATC for support, a clear photograph of the complete rating plate can be particularly helpful.
Why does ATC need my serial number?
Providing the serial number helps us to identify the particular chiller you are contacting us about.
This can help our team:
- Identify the model and original equipment specification
- Understand the configuration of the chiller
- Identify appropriate spare or replacement parts
- Provide more relevant technical support
- Support servicing and maintenance enquiries
- Investigate warranty queries
- Assess older equipment when discussing a potential replacement
This is particularly useful for older equipment, where product specifications and available configurations may have changed since the chiller was originally manufactured.
When should I provide my serial number?
Please include your serial number when contacting ATC about:
- Technical support or fault finding
- Spare or replacement parts
- Servicing and preventative maintenance
- Warranty enquiries
- Replacement of an older or obsolete chiller
- Questions about the specification of existing equipment
Providing it with your initial enquiry can help us to identify the equipment before responding and reduce the need for additional information later.
What if I can't find the serial number?
If the rating plate is damaged, missing, or difficult to access, don’t worry. Send us as much information about the equipment as you can.
Useful information can include:
- Model number
- Photographs of the chiller
- Photographs of any labels or rating plates
- Approximate age of the equipment
- Original order or customer details, where known
- Existing manuals, datasheets, or other documentation
Our team can then determine whether there is enough information available to identify the equipment.
Contact ATC for technical support, servicing, spare parts, or help identifying your equipment.
