How quickly can I get a chiller or cooler?

At Applied Thermal Control, we design, assemble, and test all of our cooling equipment at our manufacturing facility in Barrow upon Soar, United Kingdom. Every unit is built to order, allowing us to configure each system specifically to the requirements of the application while maintaining the high levels of quality, performance, and reliability expected from ATC equipment.

Once an order is placed, our engineering and production teams begin the process of building your system. This includes component sourcing, mechanical and electrical assembly, system configuration, and comprehensive testing before dispatch. Each recirculating chiller, water-to-water heat exchanger, or airblast cooler is thoroughly inspected and performance tested to ensure it meets specification and is ready for operation when it arrives on site. Units are then shipped directly from our UK manufacturing facility.

Standard lead time is 4-6 weeks. For many standard configurations, we are often able to achieve shorter lead times of around 2-3 weeks. However, because our systems are tailored to specific applications, lead times can vary depending on factors such as system size, configuration, and the inclusion of optional features or customisations. Adding options or specialised components may increase the manufacturing time, as these features are integrated and tested alongside the standard equipment.

Modular Approach

ATC units are designed and built using a modular approach and share many common components across product ranges. This allows us to maintain stock of key parts, enabling production to begin quickly once an order is confirmed. As a result, unless a unit requires a fully non-standard configuration, assembly can often begin immediately using components already held in stock.

For some of our most ordered models, base units may also be partially built in advance. These units are typically held at a pre-assembly stage and can be completed, tested, and dispatched more quickly when required. Availability of these units depends on current stock levels and the production schedule.

Loan Units

To help customers to manage urgent requirements, Applied Thermal Control maintains a small fleet of loan units. These can provide temporary cooling while a permanent system is being manufactured or repaired. Loan units are typically used in situations where such as:

Get In Touch

In many cases, particularly where cooling is critical to production or research activities, our team can prioritise or expedite production where possible. After discussing your application requirements, timeline, and configuration with your ATC sales representative, we will provide the most accurate estimate of lead time and any available options to accelerate delivery.

Once your unit has completed its build and testing stages, our administration team will confirm dispatch and shipping details, ensuring that your know exactly when to expect delivery.

If you have a project with a tight deadline or an urgent cooling requirement, we recommend contacting our team as early as possible. We will work closely with you to identify the most suitable solutions and delivery schedule for your application.
