ATC Welcomes Neil Forknall as Head of Sales

Applied Thermal Control is pleased to welcome Neil Forknall to the team as our new Head of Sales, who joined us in March 2026

Neil brings a strong track record of leadership within global engineering and manufacturing environments, with extensive experience in driving growth, developing high-performing teams, and building long-term customer relationships. At ATC, he will play a key role in shaping and delivering the company’s commercial strategy as the business continues to grow across both UK and international markets.

Driving Sales, Strategy, and Growth

In his role, Neil leads the overall sales strategy, working closely with the team to enhance performance, strengthen key accounts, and identify new opportunities for expansion. His approach combines strategic oversight with a hands-on leadership style – supporting the team day-to-day while ensuring sales activity aligns with wider business objectives.

From reviewing performance and guiding the team, to engaging directly with customers and exploring new markets, Neil’s role sits at the centre of ATC’s growth ambitions. A key focus for him is ensuring alignment across the business to deliver consistent and sustainable results. Since joining ATC, Neil has quickly immersed himself in the business, building strong relationships with both colleagues and customers. This early engagement has allowed him to gain valuable insight into the company’s strengths and identify areas where further growth can be unlocked.

Experience That Makes an Impact

Neil’s career spans senior leadership roles with full P&L responsibility, where he has led international sales teams, delivered growth strategies, and improved performance across multiple sites. His experience includes working within complex engineering and manufacturing environments, giving him a deep understanding of both customer needs and operational challenges.

Most recently, as Group Managing Director at Dunkelman Group, Neil was responsible for leading multi-site operations, driving international expansion, and developing strategic partnerships with premium global brands.

This breadth of experience positions him well to support ATC’s continued growth, bringing structure, pace, and clarity to the sales function while maintaining a strong focus on customer relationships.

Looking to the future, Neil is focused on building a high-performing sales function that can support the company’s long-term ambitions. His goal is to deliver consistent scalable growth while continuing to develop the team and strengthen ATC’s position in the market.
