Leicestershire-born Phil Jackson recently joined Applied
Thermal Control as the new Technical Manager, starting in November 2022. Phil
will be leading the technical team and their activities, including research and
development, product development, technical packs for production, certification,
customer support, and quality.
Phil has a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from
the University of Sheffield. With extensive experience in the technical field,
he brings his expertise to ATC to further the company’s growth and development.
“I’d like to welcome Phil to the ATC family. I look forward to
utilising Phil’s enthusiasm and fresh ideas to take ATC through our next period
of growth and development. We will continue to invest in our workforce to
ensure the company remains strong in an ever-changing economic environment. I
look to Phil to help us to meet the challenges which our continued growth will
pose.”
Robert Poniatowski,
Managing Director
When asked about his favourite work-related memory so far,
Phil discussed working together with the team to develop technical solutions to
some of our more unusual customer requirements. A typical work week for Phil is
busy, and varied - no two days, or weeks, are the same due to the wide variety
of activities that he is involved in, and the short timescales often involved. Phil
is often asked “How easy would it be to…”. He enjoys thinking about the answers
to these questions with his team, exploring a variety of tasks, and implementing
ways of working to improve business activities.
Outside of work, Phil is a family man with two small
children. He loves all sports – mostly watching these days, although Phil has
had a go at most sports over the years and played a few to a good standard.
Phil is a supporter of Chelsea Football Club. An avid explorer at heart, Phil
loves traveling to new places (and trying out adventurous activities – much to
his wife’s annoyance!) When he has the time, Phil enjoys building things. Last Christmas,
he combined engineering skills with imagination to build a toy castle for his
son, big enough for him to go through the gates and hide out in the keep from
the imaginary monsters.
Looking into the future, Phil is excited about the
opportunity for growth and areas where technology can bring great change to the
business and the industry. He is looking forward to working with a great team
of people to help to drive Applied Thermal Control forward into the future.
